Job Description

We are looking for a talented and creative Freelance WordPress UI Designer with experience in designing modern, visually stunning, and fully responsive Block WordPress themes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of WordPress Full Site Editing (FSE), Gutenberg blocks, and design best practices for speed, accessibility, and SEO.

Key Responsibilities

• Design visually appealing UI/UX for WordPress websites and themes, ensuring a seamless user experience.
• Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes using tools like Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
• Develop Block-based WordPress themes, optimised for Full Site Editing (FSE) and Gutenberg compatibility.
• Ensure a mobile-first, responsive design that works seamlessly across all devices.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure pixel-perfect design implementation.
• Optimise designs for performance, accessibility, and SEO compliance.
• Stay updated with WordPress trends, new UI/UX best practices, and theme design standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience in designing UI/UX for WordPress themes, specifically Block themes.
• Strong expertise in Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch for creating design mockups.
• Solid understanding of WordPress Full Site Editing (FSE) and Gutenberg blocks.
• Experience with typography, colour theory, and UI components.
• Knowledge of CSS, HTML, and WordPress theme structures (coding experience is a plus but not required).
• Understanding of performance optimisation, accessibility, and SEO-friendly design.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
• A strong portfolio showcasing previous WordPress UI/UX design projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

✔ Experience working with WordPress Theme Development teams.
✔ Familiarity with WooCommerce UI/UX design.
✔ Knowledge of WordPress theme customisation and basic PHP.
✔ Understanding of SVG graphics, animations, and micro-interactions.
